Love Courage Strength… Hope…

Love Courage Strength… Hope…

Hi There!  My name is Ann Rose (Annie),

026I am a busy mother of 2 handsome men Brandon and James, 1 beautiful daughter Jillian, GrAnnie to little Ava and Brandon Jr. (jun jun), wife to my handsome husband Steve and Metastatic Breast Cancer Survivor passionate about giving therapeutic medical massage to cancer patients and fellow surviving hero’s.

We live in Castro Valley, California where I grew up…sharing our home with our fur family…feisty pussy Sugar, her nemesis Zane and little old lady Zoe, along with our German cell 3.30.16 023Shepard Gus whom we found on Rescueme.org in February 2016 and impulsively drove to southern California on Superbowl Sunday to adopt him.  It took us 11 hours total to make it to our destination and we are all so very thankful every day we have him.

I come from a very large family.  I am an only child, but the middle child of a blended family.  I live life day by day doing what I love…and loving what I do… after years and years in the Corporate environment working long hours in a high-pressure atmosphere as a Financial Analyst, I decided to take a leap of faith at the age of 48 to become aIMG_8545 Massage Therapist and Energy Healer to give back to those suffering through cancer treatment, and our surviving hero’s, by volunteering every month by providing free massage to homeless and low income women who are currently fighting or who have conquered their fight against cancer at the Charlotte Maxwell ClinicIMG_6978 a non profit providing integrative cancer care and safety net resources  to underserved women.

When I am not volunteering, I am building my private practice through family, friends and neighbors…  being a mother to our school age children, spending time with GrAnnie’s grandbabies or dreaming about fishing in my happy place 385 miles north in Klamath, California.

Each year during the salmon season when our family owned shop Little Rays Tackle Box located about a half mile from the river dock, opens for the season during the week of July 4th.  During this time each year, I design and sell sports apparel.  In addition to designing each year’s hoodie and t-shirts I also… on a smaller scale, bring out my creative side by Fiber crafting clothing and accessories by designing Crochet Patterns for my Etsy Shop AChewsy1,033

During all of this… when I am free which is not often…my fondest days are spending time with my family and loved ones in my happy place on the Klamath River in upper Northern California fishing for Salmon and Steelhead.  I also love Photography, writing, blogging, traveling the local trails hiking or on our bikes, having a lazy Sunday afternoon making homemade chicken soup while sipping a glass of wine, or hanging out with my Mr. Gus who is nothing short of a small horse and a hand full of energy!

When you visit me here again on my blog,  you will find me sharing my ongoing battle as a survivor of 5 types of Breast Cancer including metastatic020, happy and sad thoughts… moments of calm and daily challenges in my life and our families lives and somewhere in between in those beautifully enlightened moments of clarity when something fantastic has come to mind or is about to happen.  Please enjoy and thank you for stopping by!

May Spirit bring you happiness and health in your days ahead.

  1. Hi Annie. I saw your recent post on Next Door neighbor where you mentioned you volunteer your work as a massage therapist with the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic. I was so moved after reading your story that I made a donation to the CMC! I am a volunteer for Drivers for Survivors, a non-profit based in Fremont (currently expanded to Hayward) helping to drive cancer patients to their appts. I just wanted to reach out and say it is wonderful what you are doing and also congrats on giving cancer the boot! Pamela Shoffner

What do you think?
